Ian Archie Beck's Shadows of Time will be available for pre-sale from our shop from 5 pm GMT on Saturday 28 March.
It is made up of three twentieth-century short stories.
‘Propping up the Line’ is set during and after the First World War and explores its effect on a soldier and his family; ‘Remember Walking in the Sand’ is a story about Brighton Mods in the 1960s; and ‘Footsteps in the Snow’ looks at two families in 1970s London.
Each is illustrated with a wood engraving by
Duncan Montgomery, who has also cut a frontispiece and two cover illustrations. The face on the front ilustration is based on that of Cathy McGowan, presenter of the 1960s TV music show,
Ready Steady Go!
It will be published in two versions, both full-bound in leather and available in two colour combinations - yellow and blue, and yellow and red, chosen to reflect with the title foil blocked on the spine in silver. There are 72 pages, and the page size is 160 x 120 mm.
