We often print from artwork supplied by our customer, usually as a computer file. It is used to make a zinc plate by a photo-etching process. Type and illustrations can both be printed this way. A plate mounted to the same height as a piece of type is called a block.

We can also print half-tones this way, but only with a relatively coarse screen on coated paper.
